This can be a daunting task but it doesn't need to be! Here's our list of the 6 questions that you should be asking of every garbage collection provider before you choose one to invest your hard earned money into. This is one of the most important questions you should be asking your garbage collection provider. Are they willing to do pickups any day of the week? Will they be willing to do a pickup in case of an emergency? You'll find that these answers will vary from company to company so you'll want to ensure you find one which best suits the needs of your business.
Again, this is something which varies from company to company. Some businesses will provide you with a disposal bin as a part of their waste pickup services, but others will rent them out to you at a cost. You'll also want to find out what size dumpsters they have available and ensure that what they have available will fit into the space you'll be using for garbage disposal.
Some garbage collection providers will ask you to sign a contract for a certain length of time in order to ensure your business. Other providers (such as us here at Panda Environmental) don't make you sign a contract, rather garbage collection is done on a monthly basis. Some people don't mind being tied into a contract whereas others won't feel comfortable doing that. Make sure this is one of the first questions you ask potential providers.
More businesses are becoming concerned with environmental factors and want to ensure that recyclables and garbage stay separated (and rightfully so). Be sure to ask any potential garbage collection provider whether they're willing to provide you with separate bins for both recyclables and trash. Also be sure to ask whether or not this will require extra cost. Some companies also have policies in place regarding what they will or will not pick up. Be sure to check with them beforehand so that you know what waste you can properly dispose of.
This is an important question to ask whenever you're looking to engage the services of another company. Taking a look at what their previous customers have to say should give you a good idea about whether or not you'd like to partner with them. Be sure to check out their Google+ ratings as well as their BBB ratings as these can be pretty telling. Here's a testimonial from one of our clients as an example.
"Your quality of service is excellent, and at a good price. I've seen your driver get out of his truck and pick up a bit of garbage that has fallen on the ground... twice! I have never seen another company's driver do that. I appreciate him taking the time to do that for me. I have recommended your company to 2 different places now and I will continue to do so in the future."
